Laura Hussey comes from a family of artists. Painting and drawing were a part of everyday life. As a result, she has tried all mediums but recently has concentrated on sketching plein aire in acrylics and then using the sketches in her studio to do more detailed oils. The beauty of a scene is what draws her to a certain landscape. Once the composition is found she will often do many paintings from the same sketch.
She has studied landscape with John P Osborne, still
life with Pam Pindell, and drawing with MJ Dickson. All of these artist
had a great influence on her.
